Acer #MyAcerHome Event Pushes Boundaries

Imagine having Technology fitting perfectly into your unique lifestyle!

Now imagine it being a reality, because with the #MyAcerHome initiative, it is simple to identify which piece of Acer Technology fits in with your daily routines.

Today, Acer hosted a “product showcasing” event out at the Monaghan Farm, inside a stunning home. The aim of the event was to expose us to all the practical uses the Acer Product Range has to offer individuals of all walks of life, no matter what age, profession or hobby.

The venue was so intimate that we met at a secret location and were shuttled to the house, where we were welcomed by a host of friendly faces, high profile individuals and celebrities. Shortly after arrival and an ice cold welcoming drink on such a blistering hot summer’s day, we were rounded up and officially greeted by Candice Appel, Managing Director of the event’s organizing company.

[miptheme_quote author=”Candice Explained” style=”text-center”]Today is about transcending the gap between People and Technology. Acer has a wide offering to suit the needs of individuals from Students straight through Corporate Businessmen into High End Gamers.[/miptheme_quote]

We then received our briefing, where in each room throughout the house, we would find an Acer Device, and we would need to identify the need that the Device would fill though a series of “tactical” engagements. The first device that I engaged with was the incredible, modular Acer Revo. Which is a tiny computer that you can completely customize to suit your needs at any given point, whether it be as a Media Center or converting it into a Sound System by easily unhooking the Graphics Module and attaching a Sound Module. Currently retailing at Incredible Connection with a RRP of R3,499.00. See the image above and the feature video below for more specifics.

Work, Play, Exercise and Socialize

The next Acer Device I got hold of was the Acer Spin 7, which is a Fan-less, Light and Slim Convertible Laptop PC, which uses a Rotary Touch Panel and has a 14-inch Monitor. The case is made from an Aluminum Alloy which makes it a classy choice for individuals ranging from bloggers to businessmen on-the-go. I found this particularly appealing to my needs.

I then moved to the dressing room and main bedroom, where I was greeted by Gert-Johan Coetzee, one of South Africa’s most Popular and Successful Fashion Designers, who through a series of challenges, showed us the Fashion Application of the Acer Switch Alpha 12. This Acer Device is an intuitive and immersive 5-in-1 Notebook with the payoff line of it being a “razor-thin laptop and an ultra-fast tablet in one super-mobile device”. I then performed a Totem Stance while watching Yoga Tutorials on the Acer Switch Alpha 12, which exposed the Personal Gym application of the device.

Next, was the Gaming Room, where local Afrikaans Rapping Sensation, Jack Parow waited patiently to beat me at a few rounds of Mortal Kombat X, on the Acer Predator range of Gaming Devices like the Acer Predator 17 Gaming Laptop (See our Review Here) which was linked to the Acer Predator X34 Curved Gaming Monitor. There was also an Acer G6 Desktop Gaming PC linked to the Acer Z650 Gaming Projector on display in the room. A room any gamer would fall in-love with.

Whats Cooking Doc?

Lastly, I headed to the Kitchen, where the Acer Aspire S 13 (See our Review Here) was on the counter fitting in like a Modern Digital Cook Book. The engagement here was to combine multiple ingredients into making our own Summer Rolls (similar to Spring Rolls) which was exceptionally refreshing after having my @ss handed to me a few minutes ago by Jack Parow. Each engagement required us to take a #selfie of our engagement and post it to social networks, you can see our engagement pictures here. By this point in the event, #MyAcerHome was trending on Twitter! Well deserved I might add.

The activities and products showcased exactly what Candice told us earlier in our briefing. The gap between People and Technology had been successfully bridged. I thoroughly enjoyed the day, the interactions and engagements. Thank you to the organizers and to Acer for putting together such an excellent initiative, for the exclusive invitation and for giving me an idea of what to buy myself for Christmas!
