Konami Announces FC Barcelona’s Luis Suárez as star of PES 2018 European Pack Shot
Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. announced today that FC Barcelona striker, Luis Suárez, will be the cover star on the European package front of the publisher’s upcoming football videogame release, PES 2018.
I’m a big fan of PES, so it’s a real honour for me to be on this year’s cover. Every year this game gets better and better and the work put into making PES 2018 really shows. I can’t believe how real, and lifelike I look in this year’s game. It’s simply amazing.
Suárez heads up PES 2018 on the back of making over 100 appearances and scoring over 100 goals for FC Barcelona, helping the club secure a spot in the upcoming UEFA Champions League competition.
“Luis Suárez is to us the best and most complete striker in the world with a history that speaks for itself – we expect to see him break top scoring records in the upcoming season,” commented Jonas Lygaard, Senior Director Brand & Business Development at Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. “We’re really excited to be working with him and have invested a lot of resources to properly recreate his skills and movements in PES 2018. We’re going to debut a new build of the game at this year’s Gamescom and can’t wait for gamers to get a chance to see a new benchmark of gameplay and the realism of Suarez!”
PES 2018 boasts more new features and enhancements than any PES title in the last 10 years, with more new ways to play and no part left untouched. The series’ famed gameplay offers total control over the on-field action, as users guide players that behave, move and react just like their real-life counterparts. New additions to the control systems add more fluidity to the game, while a new user interface makes accessing the many facets of the game a simpler process. KONAMI has also confirmed that the PC edition of the game will enjoy total parity with that of the leading console iterations.
The new game also introduces more ways for fans to play. Full 11-Vs-11 online options are joined by co-operative 2-Vs-2 and 3-Vs-3 modes with support for local guests. The much-requested ‘Random Selection’ match returns with all new content, while the Master League implements pre-season tournaments, a new transfer system and pre-match interviews and an insight to the changing rooms. Similarly, ahead of next season’s eSport tournament, the official PES LEAGUE has been integrated into the main game.PES 2018 will be released on September 14th for PlayStation®4, Xbox One™, PlayStation®3 and Xbox360™. The game will also be available via Steam in a version that has undergone substantial improvements in terms of aesthetics and content, ensuring the game enjoys parity with the current gen formats.
Those who purchase the PES 2018: Legendary Edition will also receive a limited edition steel book and branded USB and will be given access to a number of squad bolstering agents including: an FC Barcelona agent, a Premium Partner Agent 80+ and UEFA Champions League Star, access to Usain Bolt, four start-up agents that represent key on-pitch positions and 1000 myClub points to utilise in PES 2018’s myClub mode.
